| MISS DIG Design Ticket Program |

Each year construction projects are delayed, utility facilities are damaged and the costs can reach hundreds and thousands of dollars. A contributing factor expressed by Designers, Engineers, Municipalities, Architects, and Consultants (DEMAC) is the difficulty communicating with the appropriate personnel of the potentially involved utilities during the design of a project. Sometimes the utility companies face the same problem when designing layouts for new installations or system upgrades. MISS DIG has developed a new voluntary program called “Design Ticket” that addresses the communication disconnect. The Design Ticket service will enable the DEMAC’s the ability to contact the appropriate person at multiple utilities companies with one email message to initiate the communication process. Once the participating utility company receives the design ticket, they will have sufficient time to respond to the DEMAC which should reduce additional costs related to damages and/or construction delays.
